Climate

Torrevieja has a microclimate that does not exist in the surrounding towns. The proximity of the salt flats means that it rains less and that a stable, mild and sunny climate prevails.

All seasons are good to enjoy Torrevieja.

High season

The high season,  which runs from July 1 to August 31, is a vibrant time, with tourists of all nationalities coming to enjoy their second homes or the different accommodation options: hotels or tourist apartments

Middle season

The The middle season usually includes between the second half of June and the first of September and Easter.

The average level of population is less than in the high season, so you can enjoy Torrevieja in a slightly more relaxed way than in the high season.

Low season

The The low season is the one that includes that which is not mentioned in the previous seasons. Despite being considered bad, quite the contrary, it is a season to relax and quietly enjoy all the benefits of Torrevieja, since the weather is still ideal and the tourist infrastructure continues to function.

What else can you do to enjoy Torreieja? throughout the year, with different events during practically every month of the year

Torrevieja has a cultural agenda throughout the year, with all kinds of events, performances, plays, musicals, ballet, etc. It has an International Auditorium where practically every week there are some shows.  The Torrevieja Symphony Orchestraprograms its concerts every season, the one at the beginning of the New Year being very popular.

There is also the Municipal Theater with countless activities and events.

It is worth noting its International Contest of Habaneras and Polyphony during the last week of June.

January

Parade of the Three Kings, on January 5.

February

Carnival parades, with several parades with floats, is an event that is gaining momentum every year and is becoming more and more spectacular.

The half marathon takes place on the last Sunday of February, within the Athletics Federation calendar.

The cake and coffee week also takes place in some cafes and restaurants in Torrevieja.

March

At the end of March there is the event "arroces de Torrevieja" where several restaurants in Torrevieja can enjoy a wide variety of rice dishes with fish and local vegetables.

April

Easter (Holly Week) is celebrated in April. You can enjoy the processions where religious fervor emerges in the streets.

May

The port area is filled with booths during the May fair period, with dance shows, rociero choirs, parades of floats and horses. These days Torrevieja is filled with colors, polka dots, flowers and joy.

June

In this month the shoulder season begins, the . Aquopolis opens.

We must not leave out the bonfires of San Juan, at the summer solstice, with their fireworks, magic, energy, sea and fire.

August

September

Month of transition from the summer bustle to more or less daily normality.

At the end of this month there is the Tapas Route, where you can taste an infinite number of tapas, which are entered into a contest to later vote for the best one

October

The Oktoberfest has recently begun to be celebrated, since Torrevieja is multicultural and there are a large number of German residents who do not want to stop enjoying their festivities.

There are also events such as the La Mata artisan market or the Street food market and the Vega Baja gastro, where restaurants offer typical dishes.

And of course, the Halloween party, which is celebrated in all the lively areas of Torrevieja such as the Puerto Deportivo and the Polígono where there are a large number of pubs and nightlife.

November

This month is ideal for the tapas route, to be able to enjoy the great gastronomic variety

The annual election of the Queen of Salt and her bridesmaids is also celebrated.

The patron saint festivities of Torrevieja begin, which are during the last week of November and the first week of December.

December

Its first week begins with the patron saint festivities in honor of the Immaculate Conception, with a multitude of cultural events, popular booths, parades, fireworks, etc.

The Christmas illumination marks the beginning of the Christmas festivities. All the streets and shopping malls are filled with lights.
