TWO TECHNIQUES WITH DIFFERENT APPROACHES AND PURPOSES

Differences between yoga and reiki, two disciplines to help physical and spiritual wellness.

In the world of wellnesas and spirituality there are practices and disciplines searching for finding balance and harmony. The most well known are yoga and reiki. Although they may seem similar, are two different techniques. Let's go to yoga or reiki: which one do you prefer?

INTRODUCTION

Yoga focuses on the mind and body; Reiki focuses on the mind, body and emotion. – Yoga is applied to oneself in situ. Reiki is applied to other living beings, animals and even at a distance. In Yoga the human being is a social being, for Reiki the human being is an energetic – vibrational being.

YOGA

Originally from India, can be practiced in a individually or group way. There are different styles, depending on which aspect is emphasized more: strength, flexibility or relaxation.

It focuses on the connection among body, mind and spirit by combining postures and relaxation techniques that help to calm the mind and reduce anxiety. Meditation is also one of the integral parts helping to grow mindfulness and introspection.

REIKI

Originally from Japan. It is based on the fact that diseases are the result of the somatization of anxiety states: "there is no disease in the physical body without being created in the mind

It is based on the belief that there is a universal vital energy flowing through living beings. Reiki channels this energy through the hands to balance and harmonize the body, mind and spirit. Reiki focuses mainly on the energetic and spiritual aspect.
